Let’s think about the following situation:
A Christian woman is in an abusive relationship with her Christian husband. The husband physically strikes her, engages in sexual, verbal and financial abuse. The financial abuse would be the abuser withholding money from the wife as punishment and/or the abuser controlling all of the resources in house.
1. If you were working with this Christian woman 1:1 in counseling sessions and she expressed that she wants to stay with the husband because she does not believe in divorce, how would you work with this woman?
2. Would you bring the husband in for counseling with the wife if he were agreeable?
